I have a soft spot in my heart for anything zombies. Be it a well written and produced modern day zombie movie like 28 Days Later or the TV show Walking Dead, or maybe something like the 70s classic Dawn of the Dead, I can always set aside time to suspend my disbelief to ponder what it would be like to be on the run from Zombies.
There are so many different avenues to indulge on this fantasy. Not long ago, I blogged about a group of people wanting to help Detroit's economy by making Z-land. There is also this organization on Facebook, Z.E.R.T (Zombie Eradication Response Team) that is developed around zombie survival. These are just a few things to venture into the world of zombies without wasting taxpayer dollars.
But I have not tolerance for governments that want to ride on the coattails of zombie mania ... Hence the case of the Department of Homeland Security, Department of Public Health and Human Services and the Center for Disease Control, spending taxpayer dollars on encouraging people to "Prepare for Zombie Attacks."
The Associated Press says it's "tongue in cheek" but I don't think it's very cheeky! We have enough problems in this country for our appointed leaders to take up a fantasy in order to encourage people prepare for the worst!
But maybe the Federal Government knows something I don't ... like the current zombie pandemic of fluoride heads and all those who blindly follow Democrats or Republicans ... Maybe that's the zombie pandemic we should really be preparing against!
