Hostess with the Mostess

Hostess with the Mostess

Sad badger face "I don't even like Twinkees ..." Seriously … People are going crazy over this Hostess deal. So you’ll have to make Twinkies and ding-dongs from scratch. Big whoop. Get over it! It’s amazing just how crazy people are getting. People are worried about the status of deep fried Twinkies at state fairs, which some of you may think is a legitimate concern, while others are having a bit too much fun. Have you seen what Woody Harrilson has been posting? The star of Zombieland whose character was in desparate need of Twinkies, has been posting pics of his character mourning the loss of Hostess.  And who coulnd't notice all the people on Facebook just going ape shit over this ... Come on, people! It's just a brand of baked goods, it's not the end of the world.

And the demand

It’s like there was a hurricane across the entire country and the only thing that people need to survive is a Hostess snow-ball. Wake up, people! There are far more important things to worry about than trying to make a couple hundred dollars selling those snack cakes on e-Bay! We all know someone is sure to buy out the recipe and make their own “Twinkies” and they’ll be just as secure in a nuclear blast than the previous Twinkies.

Or, you could just find the recipe and spend all day making some great holiday treats. Now that’s an idea!

Check out this website to get a sampling of what madness the Internet is doing with the news of Hostess going out of business.

In perspective

Don't forget the important things in life. There are people who are struggling out there who need your help. You can help us help them by stuffing a truck. Stuff-A-Truck going on all this weekend at Schnucks on Sangamon. It's our annual event where we take donations (be it cash/check, non-perishable foods, or even toiletries) to benefit Kumler Outreach Ministries.
