City Water, Light and Power Electric Department line crews and troubleshooters are continuing to make repairs and restore power to customers affected by power outages from storms this morning. Approximately 2,500 customers were affected at the height of the outages and now just 500 customers remain without power in scattered areas around the city. The majority of the outages were caused by lightning strikes and trees in contact with power lines. Earlier reports of lines down, did not include any CWLP lines.
The largest outage areas were located in the northwest quadrant of the city affecting customers served by two circuits from the Amos and Palomino substations. Current outages affecting 500 customers are in locations in scattered areas throughout the city.
Customers that have not reported their power outage, should call CWLP’s Electric Trouble Line, 789-2121. This number can also be used for any reports of trees in conflict with wires or other service trouble.
