So, I like hockey. Hockey and Baseball are the two sports that I follow, sorry football fans but I really just don't care about the NFL... I can watch a game but I'm going to bed upset over the outcome. Baseball and Hockey on the other hand, I will go to bed pissed over the results.
I will preface this by saying that even though I will go to bed upset, I am not a SUPER FAN. I don't consider myself the extra man on the team, I don't paint my face, and while I will engage in "trash talk" - it is all in good fun and I respect good sports/playing... "May the best team win." I don't do it to be a dick.
But I am bumming today. I am a St. Louis Blues fan and while they are first in the western conference and going to the playoffs, last night and in recent weeks they have lost to... The Chicago F'in Blackhawks. LARS LOVES THE BLACKHAWKS!!! LOVES THEM... And we have healthy talks about hockey and the Hawks and Blues in the hallways of the station... I have been to games with him in STL and the windy city... every time, BLUES LOSE. Pisses me off!
Blues and Hawks, is to hockey as the Cards and Cubs are to baseball. And while in those games the better team won, it wasn't the team I wanted. BUMMER!
Well, bitch time is now over and I move on. The zamboni has laid a fresh pad of water down on the ice and we start a new game. Go Blues!
