Stone Temple Pilots kicked Scott Weiland to the curb a while back for not being able to stay clean and sober. Well, the guys performed this past weekend at the KROQ Weenie Roast in LA with a familiar face on lead vocals.
Chester Bennington from Linkin Park.
Check out part of the performance.
What do you think? I think he did pretty good. I know he is not Scott Weiland and never will be Scott Weiland. But are bands who are known for a certain type of sound supposed to never perform again if the person who gives them that "unique (band) sound" croaks or gets booted out of the band? I say no.
Chester also laid down vocals on a new STP track called Out Of Time. Have a listen.
Now, the band has said that this isn't a permanent solution, telling KROQ "“Chester has a one-of-a-kind voice that we’ve admired for a long time. We know Linkin Park will always be his priority, but we thought it would be cool to try something together. We managed to find the time to record a song and we’re all really happy with the result.”
Is Chester a good fit for STP?
