Not a mosh pit
We’ve seen this type of thing before ... a rock star stopping a show mid song to break up a fight between fans. During a show in Manchester, New Hampshire, Van Halen’s David Lee Roth stopped the band right at the beginning of their cover of the tune “Pretty Woman” to berate some members of the audience who decided to throw fists rather than rock horns. Watch the video below:
This really is how you can dicern a rock show from a metal show. At a metal show, people thrashing around looks a lot like fighting and if you don’t wanna be in the pit then get out! But at a Van Halen show thrashing around looks like fighting. Recently Dave Grohl stopped a Foo Fighters show when a member of the audience decided to start throwing fisticuffs.
New band, new album
The band is called Adrenaline Mob and it’s the new project of former Dream Theater drummer Mike Portnoy and Disturbed bassist John Moyer. Portnoy left Dream Theater to tour and record with Avenged Sevenfold and after AX7 let him go Dream Theater said they had moved on. Moyer needed something to do with his time after Disturbed announced they were taking an indefinite hiatus. The band’s debut album Omertá is out now.
