The WQLZ Movie Minute?
Marilyn Manson is moving from the music scene to the big screen, even if it’s for a short film at a film festival. It won’t be a blockbuster by any measure, but the self-proclaimed film buff will have a starring role in Wrong Cops, a short movie where Manson plays a street hustler. Wrong Cops is being directed by the same guy who made the film Rubber, which was about an old tire that rolled around the southwest and kill people by blowing their heads up—yes, I said an old tire blows people’s heads up. So, you can bet that Wrong Cops is going to be just as, if not more, absurd. Manson says he has several other film projects he’s working on with Johnny Depp and Eli Roth. Manson had roles in other movies like Jawbreaker, Party Monster & Lost Highway, but those were years ago. The 13-minute long Wrong Cops is set to premier at Cannes Film Festival in France. Manson’s new album Born Villain is due out May 1st.
Rouge on Rouge
Speaking of melding movies and music together, Slipknot front man Corey Taylor sat down with actor John Cusack for a “Rouge on Rouge” interview that appears on ArtistDirect.com. The two talk about Cusack’s new movie The Raven and about the relationship between movies and music.
Oh, and real quick … Creed and Theory of a Deadman have been announced in the lineup for the Illinois State Fair. More details on that in the weeks ahead.
