It’s not everyday that a package from a record company prompts the evacuation of a radio station building … but that’s exactly what happened yesterday here at Riverton Radio Ranch and it’s a surefire way to get mentioned in the Music Minute. A package containing promotional matches from the band Foxy Shazam must have been crushed as the match heads turned to dust and poured out of an envelope prompting haz-mat crews and fire stations from around the area to give the all clear. All personnel, except for the on-air staff, were evacuated. The all clear was eventually given.
Love's lawyers
She just can’t keep herself out of trouble. If it’s not some friend or her daughter going after her, it’s her lawyers. Courtney Love is being sued by her former lawyers for over $400,000. Love’s people fired back at press reports saying that the lawyers haven’t worked for the Hole front woman for a long time and they’re baffled by the whole deal. They also claim that Love has not been served any papers and as far as they’re concerned there is no law suit. Apparently, the suit hasn’t been filed. Tabloid trashers TMZ says they’ve seen the complaint and it accuses Love of writing bad checks to cover attorney fees.
Erna back at it this week
Sully Erna has been on the mend for the past week, causing Godsmack to cancel a slew of dates in Europe. The front man was advised by his doctors to rest his voice after he got sick from an unspecified illness. They’ll be back at it on Thursday in Austria.
