Let’s take a look at the charts this morning … you know, get a sense of the pulse of America. For one band it was a good opening with Smashing Pumpkins landing at No. 4 with just over 54,000 copies sold--pretty good for the first commercially available album in 5 years. Zeitgeist, released in 2007, sold over 145,000 copies and landed at No. 2. Meanwhile Rush is on top of the charts at No. 2 this week for the release of Clockwork Angels.
DVD Release Expected
Korn will be releasing a DVD titled “The Path of Totality Tour: Live at Hollywood Palladium.” The name pretty much sums up what it is. Expect that out September 4th. That show was filmed late last year.
Looking for that morning pick me up and are a fan of Anthrax? Well, soon you’ll be able to pick up some coffee creations from Charlie Benante, the drummer of Anthrax. Dude loves coffee so much he actually has a Starbucks tattoo. That’s pretty hardcore. Expect to pick up some of this rockin’ coffee sometime this summer.
Rock stars in the movies—Filter’s Richard Patrick and David Yow of Jesus Lizard will be playing rolls in a new movie about baseball. It’s called “High and Outside: A Baseball Noir.” It’s about a guy who wants to go pro so bad he’ll do anything. You can imagine the antics that will bring to the silver screen. There’s no word yet on when the film will be out.
