Dave Grohl isn't sure about getting big drumsticks ... |
Forget about that key to the city! Warren, Ohio, is gonna hook Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl with a pair of huge drumsticks. The area newspaper reports that the city is handing over a pair of 900-pound drumsticks Saturday. They even put tattoos similar to what Grohl has on his arms up and down the sticks. Grohl was born in Warren and the city wants to honor him with the sticks and also an alley. The sticks will be displayed at the Warren Amphitheater this year and then after the concert season they’ll be moved to Dave Grohl Alley. It’s still not clear if Grohl will be at the unveiling ceremony this weekend.
Top of the charts
Linkin Park grabed the top spot this week on the Billboard charts. They barely beat out mom-rockers Maroon 5. The numbers were pretty huge. Living Things, the band’s 5th studio album, sold 223,000 copies in it’s first week of sales.
Music program
Speaking of Linkin Park—they’re working with Dell to release a program that will help users create music. Surely you’ve picked up on the increasing Electronica influence in their music over the years—well now you’ll be able to do the same type of stuff with some canned LP sounds and loops. Awesome! That’s all we need is a bunch of LP posers uploading their music to SoundCloud.
