Size does matter
How do you know your one of the biggest rock acts in the world? When the festival your playing has to increase the size of the stage your playing. That’s the case with Iron Maiden. Reports indicate that Rock Fest organizers are planning to increase the main stage for Maiden’s Saturday night performance in Wisconsin. Something else that’s new to Rock Fest—cell phone charging stations. That way you can take pics of chicks in bikinis throughout the day and still re-up the juice to get pics and video of the concert! Rock Fest is a four day event in Wisconsin starting today and includes headliners Shinedown, Godsmack, Iron Maiden and Def Leppard, just to name a few.
Still years away
So, just how much longer will us maggots have to wait for a new Slipknot album? Front man Corey Taylor says it could still be a couple of years. In an interview on a Canadian radio station, Taylor said that the band is still coping with the death of bassist Paul Gray. Gray passed away in 2010. Taylor said that there is still a bit of denial from the band and it won’t really sink in until they all head back to the studio. In the meantime, he says that there are some demos floating around but he wants to be sure that everyone in the band has input and that they’re gonna get the music together first before heading into the studio.
Writing new album
Speaking of new albums—word has it that Korn will begin writing their next attempt. Jonathan Davis tells Billboard.com that the band is itching to get a follow up to last year’s The Path of Totality.
