Nine Inch Nails front man Trent Reznor is not new to scoring music for first-person shooters. Having just come off a stint writing scores for The Girl With a Dragon Tattoo, he’ll now lend his talents to the forthcoming release of Call of Duty: Black Ops II. In a behind the scenes featurette talking with game developers, Reznor says
“I look at video games as a true art form. The chance to be involved in something like this is exciting to me. I feel it’s as ever bit viable as film work or music or anything else. The games have gotten more intense and more realistic, more engrossing and deeper. Video Game Culture has expanded into the largest form of entertainment.”
This isn’t Reznor’s first rodeo. Back in 1996 he scored the music for the groundbreaking Quake first-person shooter. Call of Duty: Black Ops II comes out November 11th this year. Watch the featurette here:
It’s a bit of a set back for 3 Doors Down as they work on their new album. Bassist Todd Harrell was arrested for DUI Thursday morning in Mississippi. A police report indicates that Harrell failed to stop at an intersection and then collided with a pickup truck. He was charged with DUI and not wearing his seat belt. Police say that Harrell consented to a blood test and the toxicology report is pending.
