A Russian punk band named Pussy Riot is making headlines around the world with the incarceration of three of their members. The three Russian women are being held on charges of sacrilege after they were arrested performing a punk tune at a mausoleum in Russia in protest of Russian President Vladimir Putin (watch video below, or follow this link). The incident happened before Putin was elected in March. Other protests the group organized includes an orgy at a museum and also they had one of their male members perform a sex act on a frozen chicken at a grocery store. Of course, it’s all in protest. The trial for the three women concluded this week and a verdict is expected next week. We’ll keep you posted.
Puddle of Warrant
Wes Scantlin has a warrant out for his arrest after the Puddle of Mudd front man failed to appear for a court date. Wednesday, Scantlin was supposed to show a judge in LA that he had enrolled in drug counseling courses, but he was a no show. A bench warrant was issued. Raise your hand if you’ve had a bench warrant. Don’t lie! Scantlin is facing charges of cocaine possession after being arrested in January on driving under the influence and driving on a suspended license. As a way to skirt jail time, he worked a deal out to plead guilty to the cocaine charges and the others would be dropped. One condition was that he had to register and attend drug counseling. He’s gotta get back to court to clear things up August 17th.
