Soundgarden chillin' until the new album drops
Album date revealed, name unkown
It’s about time we get an update on when the new Soundgarden album drops. Rolling Stone magazine reports that the album will be in stores November 13th. We still don’t know what the album is going to titled but we do know that they’ve been working on the album for a couple of years now. This will be the first studio album from the Seattle band since 1996’s Down On The Upside. There is also word that the band has some 15 songs from earlier in their career that have yet to be released. Does this mean we could see another album of previously unreleased Soundgarden tunes? Not sure, we’re just waiting for that new album to finally drop!
New Drowning Pool streaming
Told you a bit ago about Drowning Pool finding a new singer—now the band is streaming a new tune with Jasen Mareno on vocals. The tune “In Memory Of …” is a dedication to late singer Dave Williams who passed away ten years ago. The band feels Mareno is now their guy and we expect to hear new Drowning Pool sometime early next year. Listen to the new track below or follow this link.
SOAD best of?
Will it happen? Not sure. But System of a Down’s Serj Tankian says he’s open to the idea of releasing a SOAD greatest hits album with some previously unreleased tunes. The band still says they don’t have any immediate plans to get back together.
