The WQLZ Music Minute--Music news written by Bishop for 92.7 WQLZ, The Rock Station
Tour dates announced
Mark down these dates: October 18th and the 19th. That’s when Smashing Pumpkins will be in St. Louis and then Chicago. The band has announced their North American tour with 15 dates spanning across the country. October 18th they’ll be in St. Louis at the Chaifetz Arena and October 19th they’ll be in Chicago at the Allstate Arena. If their tour in Canada and Mexico is any indication, the band will be performing their entire Oceania album plus they’ll have a light show provided by Sean Evans who did the lights for Roger Waters’ The Wall tour. VIP tickets are available now that include a Q&A session plus access to a three-song backstage performance from the band. Get more details on that at SmashingPumpkins.com.

Elias Soriano of Nonpoint |
Nonpoint coming to Springfield
More dates you should mark down, especially for a kick ass show in Springfield, is Saturday, October 6th. That’s when Nonpoint will be in town at Boondocks, the new and improved venue taking over the old Dirty Bird, also known as Rockin’ Robin. That show will be just days before the new Nonpoint album drops. Taproot will also be on the bill, so it’s a pretty bad ass show right here in Springfield. You better support it!
Static-X/Ill Niño coming to Bloomington
In other tour news, Ill Niño will be in Bloomington at The Castle Theatre September 24th supporting Static X. We told you yesterday that Ill Niño will be releasing their new album Epidemia October 22nd.
