Who's Who of Rich Drummers, Foo Fighters to Take Break, Slash Saw What?

The WQLZ Music Minute--Music news written by Bishop for 92.7 WQLZ, The Rock Station

Who's who of rich drummers

Dave Grohl as Richy Rich

So who are the richest drummers in the world? It’s a burning question that we just gotta have the answer to, right? Some crack website called CelebrityNetWorth.com has compiled the list of the most wealthy drummers and topping the rocker list is Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl—He comes in at $225 million. Surprisingly, Grohl beat out Metallica’s Lars Ulrich who came in at $175 million in net worth and then Red Hot Chili Peppers Chad Smith at $90 million. There are few others to mention like Blink 182’s Travis Barker, Van Halen’s drummer, Green Day’s drummer and Grohl’s buddy, Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins.

Foo Fighters to take break

Speaking of Foo Fighters, over the weekend Dave Grohl told a crowd in Reading, England, that show would be the last show for a long time. Well, it may not be their last show, but apparently it is the last show in England. An official close to the band says that Foo Fighters have four show booked in the states and then they’ll take a break after that.

Slash saw what?

Talk about being born into the rock star life! In an interview with an Australian radio station Slash shared a childhood story where he saw something that most kids would require years of therapy for—at the age of 8 he walked in on his mom in her birthday suit with David Bowie. Ola Hudson was a costume designer for Bowie back in the 70s. Slash said his perspective was limited at the time but the two were always together with a bunch of other people. Now he has a better idea of what was going on and says he can imagine just how freeky it got. Instead of intense therapy, Slash picked up a guitar.
