Interesting projects
He wants to tell us about his new interesting projects, but not yet … That’s what Nine Inch Nails front man Trent Reznor has said about work he’s doing with hip hop pioneer Dr. Dre. A message posted to Reznor’s Facebook page says that he’s been working for the past year with the crew from Beats by Dre and fans can expect some very interesting projects to emerge next year. Reznor and his wife Mariqueen also have a new album coming out next year under the How to Destroy Angels banner. A single from How to Destroy Angels has been released to stream online.
New album next year
Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith says that the band is working on an album for 2013. Talking to ABC Radio, Smith says the Chili Peppers have shows scheduled up until April of next year. After that, they’ll take a break and then head to the studio to work on their 11th studio album. He also said he’s happy to sell fans mp3 downloads of their recent concerts. Bassist Flea, meanwhile, turns 50 this week and told CNN that he will work on the forthcoming album, but he doesn’t expect to be with the band forever. Flea has been working with Radiohead’s Thom Yorke on a project to be released under the guise of Atoms for Peace sometime next year. The bassist also has a solo disc out titled Helen Burns.

A two-minute video featuring an interview with Chris Cornell and Matt Cameron of Soundgarden also contains clips of the new track titled “By Crooked Steps.” King Animal, the first album from the band in more than 15 years is out November 13th.
