A ton of students missed class yesterday at Boston University—that’s because Aerosmith was playing in Boston. The band came back to their old pad where they lived in the early 70s. It was a free lunchtime show where thousands of fans crowded the streets, hung out of windows, stood on fire escapes and on rooftops. It was a double promotion for both today’s elections and today’s release of their new album Music From Another Dimension. Also in promotion of their new album--last week, Steven Tyler dropped an F-bomb on the Today Show while calling it “Good Morning America.”
Kid Rock is getting honored by his home state. One of Rock’s new tunes called “Detroit, Michigan” is available on the state of Michigan tourism site. The song highlights Michigan celebrities like Marvin Gaye, Aretha Franklin and Eminem. You can download the song at Michigan.org. The song will be on the forthcoming album Rebel Soul, which is out November 19th.
It’s a family affair over at Team Chevelle. It’s always been a band of brothers, but the band actually brought in the fairer of the Loeffler family to sing on the single “Same Old Trip.” Pete Loeffler says that he was in the studio recording for the new record and he started singing using his falsetto, but it wasn’t working out as intended. His sister Natalie, who is married to Chevelle bassist Dean Bernardini, just so happened to be there that day and Pete put some headphones on her and set her in front of a microphone. She ended up belting out the part in 30 minutes, which is quick in studio terms. Pete says he’ll more than likely use his sister’s voice again in the future.
