If you’ve been wondering what Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong was doing in rehab, you may want to pick up the next issue of Rolling Stone magazine. The Green Day front man gave his first post rehab interview to the music mag where he talks about his addiction to alcohol and prescription pain killers. He says it got to the point where he didn’t know where he’d find himself after complete blackouts. The band has a series of shows this spring and they’ll also perform at South By Southwest next month.
Opiate for the masses
When we said there wouldn’t be any Tool releases this year, we meant new stuff. Apparently fans will get a chance at picking up a re-issue of Tool’s debut six song EP Opiate. But, as with all things Tool, the band is trying to make the release as exclusive as possible. They’ll only release 5,000 copies in runs of 1,000. Each run will have unique artwork. And, you won’t be able to buy it in brick and mortar stores. You’ll only be able to pick up the album through Tool’s online store. Grab it up March 26th.
Streaming online
The latest single from Rob Zombie’s forthcoming album Venamous Rat Regeneration Vendor has been revealed. The song is titled “Dead City Radio and the New Gods of Super Town,” which is just as long a clunky as the album title. A sample of the song was revealed when fans piece together a puzzle revealing the album artwork. Now the tune is streaming online. The premise of the song seems to be Zombie playing the part of a smooth and speedy Disc Jockey while singing about the past and future state of the airwaves. Zombie’s new album hits stores April 23rd. Listen to the song below (code from Loudwire).
