Danny Carey Side Project, Hidden Teaser Clip, Expected Next Month, and Future STP Plans

The WQLZ Music Minute--Music news written by Bishop for 92.7 WQLZ, The Rock Station

Danny Carey side project

Those who can't wait for the new Tool album may get a little relief with news that drummer Danny Carey is releasing new with his side project Volto!. The group's debut album title Incitare will be out July 23rd. It's a creation of tiny jazz clubs in Los Angeles where Carey hooked up with session bassist Lance Morrison and guitarist John Volto Ziegler. After deciding to put together some original tunes, Carey called in Tool's producer to record the material and even had Tool guitarist and artist Adam Jones contribute to Volto!'s album cover art.

Hidden teaser clip

There's a new clip of a forthcoming Avenged Seven Fold album. Earlier last month the band offered a taste of some new music with an in-studio video and also had some stuff streaming on their website. That was all out in the open. Now the band is making fans work for more of a taste. Apparently the guitarist commented on an A7X fan-site with a word from the upcoming album. Searching YouTube for the unique word ("Andronikos") produced a second preview clip where it's back to the studio. There's no official release date, but surely they're close to completion.

Expected next month

A new Pearl Jam Single is expected out in July. According to an AllAccess.com post that has reportedly been removed, said that there would be a target date of July 16th for the premier of a new tune. We'll keep you posted if that happens. PJ band members have been hinting at the completion of the new album for weeks and some say it could come out by the end of this year.

Future plans

Chester Bennington is sharing more about his work and intentions with Stone Temple Pilots. At a Music Cares MAP Fund Benefit in LA last week, Bennington told Rolling Stone that STP and he are taking it song by song as they don't have a record company behind them. He also says that the band will go out and "give people music the way they want to get it." Bennington also shared that the band will be back in the studio this week to lay down more tracks. Bennington was revealed as the new singer for STP last month. The band kicked Scott Weiland out earlier this year and most recently sued the former front man. Weiland says he started the band and can't be fired.
