Behind the set
We all know he like to party hard, but when it comes to drumming, he wants to set a record. We think it’s just a way to stay relevant. Andrew W.K. says he’s going to start a full day of drumming tomorrow. He’s attempting to set a world record for the longest drum session in a retail store as part of MTV’s O Music Awards. He’ll have some special guests pop in from time to time but it’ll be Mr. W.K. that is behind the drum set for the duration. Now anyone who has gotten behind a drum set knows it can be exhausting, so we encourage Andrew to play some slow beats for hours on end … don’t start that double kick, or it’ll all be over real quick. MTV’s O Music Awards is tomorrow and honors music, culture and technology.
Bad ass haunted house
Put this in the “Hell Yeah, That’d Be Bad Ass” to-do list: Rob Zombie is planning the “Great American Nightmare”—it’s a haunted experience based on three of his horror films. There’ll be a traditional haunted house based on House of 1,000 Corpses. Then there’ll be unique 3-D effects in the section dedicated to El Superbeasto. For the clausterphobic, there’ll be a super eerie and at times super tight maze based on The Lords of Salem. There will also be some bands performing including Andrew W.K., The Used and others. The experience is planned to run in Ponoma, California from October 10th, through November 2nd … just in time for Halloween.
Corey Taylor’s new book is indeed a book about ghosts. Titled Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Heaven (Or How I Made Peace with the Paranormal and Stigmatized Zealots and Cynics in the Process), it’ll be a series of accounts where Taylor hung out with various ghost hunting groups working to find evidence of ghosts. He also shares stories about his own experiences with paranormal activity. You can pick up the book July 16th.
