Grohl and Novoselic react
His current band Foo Fighters are getting ready to record a new album, and surely are all ready well on their way to becoming Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees at some point down the road when they’re eligible, but Dave Grohl is basking in the light of his other band’s induction. The Nirvana drummer says that he is speechless. He also says he wants to thank those who recognized Nirvana for what it represented, which is “pure rock and roll.” In a statement released by remaining members of the band, bassist Krist Novoselic said he wanted to thank most of all Kurt Cobain. Cobain killed himself in April of 1994. Novoselic also thanked everyone who has helped keep rock music strong for 60 years and counting. The Rock Hall induction will be in April and will air on HBO in May.
Simmons welcomes reunion
They’re known for big theatrics and even bigger riffs—and I’m not talking about guitar riffs … An induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame may bring some of the original members of KISS back together. Shortly after the news was announced that the long looked over rockers were accepted into the Rock Hall, Gene Simmons said he’s open to the idea of having a reunion with former members of the band. When pressed on Simmons’ previous refusals to get back together with former members, the bassist said he menat for tours, but “they were equally important in the formation of the band.” Peter Criss says he wants the band to be known for bringing the big top circus to rock and roll. Ace Frehley says the news of the induction was a personal boost for him, something to lift his spirits especially a few days after his house caught fire in suburban New York.
