He’s not a philosopher king, but he still wants to speak his mind. Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian is gonna bring his spoken word tour to the US after a successful run in the UK earlier this year. Taking a cue from anti-authoritarian punk great Henry Rollins, Ian took to the stage with “Speaking Words” back in May in the UK and now it’s time for us here in the States to get a taste. The one-man speaking engagement will hit up the Maynestage in Chicago February 20th and then will bounce up to Detroit, a stint in Ontario then back down to New England. The show features talk on many different levels. Ian says that it’ll make you laugh and think as it’s “s**t that I have been through in my life.”
Entire video posted
They made the audio download of their Antarctica show available earlier this week and now Metallica have posted the high-definition video of the performance on YouTube. The more than hour-long performance in a scientific dome from near the south poll features the band playing fan favorites as part of a contest from Coca-Cola.
New album and new fued
A new album is coming from Sixx: A.M. in early 2014 after it was announced the band has put the finishing touches on the new attempt. That’s not the only news the band is making. Front man and bassist Nikki Sixx is also verbally smacking around Godsmack front man Sully Erna … via Twitter. Seemingly completely unprovoked, Sixx took to Twitter and blasted Erna, taggin him directly in the post, saying:
Erna and the crew from Godsmack toured with Motley Crue a few years ago and Erna says that’s where he came up with the tune “Cryin’ Like a Bitch,” but that songs been out for a clip, so it’s unclear if Sixx is addressing that old wound, or if he’s merely commenting on Erna’s role in the released directly to video movie Army of the Damned. Gotta love public Twitter fights between rock stars! Way to keep it classy, guys!
