It was an album that burst onto the scene with the single “Closer” and quickly created die hard fans that delved deep into Nine Inch Nails’ back catalog … and it turns 20-years-old this month. The epic album The Downward Spiral by Nine Inch Nails featured the poppy beats of “Closer,” the gritty in-you-face rage of “March of the Pigs,” “Mr. Self Destruct,” and even “Heresy,” while being able to break new ground with “Reptile,” “The Becoming” and “A Warm Place.” And we can’t forget to mention the classic tune “Hurt” that seemingly every Nine Inch Nails concert closes with. If it’s been a while since you spun the record, make it happen! Its definitely stood the test of time. You won’t be let down.
Trailer features Taylor
The trailer for Fear Clinic is circulating the Internet, and it features Stone Sour and Slipknot front man Corey Taylor … for a brief moment. The story’s about a destitute asylum with a doctor claiming to cure phobias. There are a bunch of no-named actors featured in the film, but the main bill is A Nightmare on Elm Street’s Robert Englund (he played Freddy Kruger). Anyways, the movie doesn’t have a release date quite yet.
Metal concert canceled
When you hear of a metal concert being canceled somewhere else in the world, you typically think it’s like some death or black metal bands whose stage shows feature fake blood and mock sacrifices, right? Well, down in Mexico a concert featuring very sanitized bands like Kiss, Guns ‘N Roses, Twisted Sister and others was canceled. Fans suspect the two-day concert was canceled because of corruption, discrimination or politics … it is Mexico after all. The “Hell and Heaven Metal Fest” was planned for this weekend but officials with the government said there wasn’t enough or adequate safety plans.
