Suit is phony
It was reported this week that the family of late KISS drummer Eric Carr was suing the band for money they believe his estate was owed. Well, that lawsuit apparently didn’t come from the Carr family, according to an attorney for the family. The Carr family lawyer says that the suit claiming money owed for royalties on several songs was filed by a non-related third party without any knowledge, authorization or consent of anyone in the car family. In a Tweet from Paul Stanley, the KISS front man says that Carr’s family is “shocked by a lawsuit filed without their knowledge or support.” Stanley then goes on to say “We will deal with this attempted scam appropriately.”
Lyric video posted
Linkin Park have released a lyric video for their new tune “Guilty All The Same.” In typical lyric video fashion, the tune plays with storm clouds overlaid the background. Then, as the song really picks up, lyrics are splashed on the screen. It’s still unclear when the new album will be out.
Pop Evil at Pop's
Pop Evil are back to touring, after being wrapping up a two year stint on the road late last year when the band was in Central Illinois. They’ve had a successful run and with a few months off the road, the band is ready to join up with Escape the Fate with a show April 30th at Pop’s in Sauget, just outside of St. Louis. The tour will then head over to the New England area, then the upper north east and eventually to Chicago at the Concord Music Hall May 16th. Pop Evil are also featured in a promo for college basketball tournament action. Not a bad deal for a band that still pretty fresh on the scene.
Static X to tour
It’s been 15 years since Static X released Wisconsin Death Trip, and that brings back memories of sipping on Dr. Mcgillicuddy's Vanilla Schnapps … long story, don’t ask. Anyways, to celebrate the 15 year release, Wayne Static is taking to the road for a tour. You’ll be able to hook up with them down at Pop’s in Sauget June 16th.
