NIN/Soundgarden to Tour, Tied the Knot, KISS Members Excluded, and Wylde's Guitar Stolen

NIN/Soundgarden to Tour

Presale for this summer’s Nine Inch Nails/Soundgarden shows begins today! This is the first time in 20 years the bands have been on the same ticket. Rolling Stone says that NIN front man Trent Reznor described their last show together back in 1994 as a “professional showdown” because both bands released their epic albums—for Nine Inch Nails it was The Downward Spiral and for Soundgarden it was Superunknown. The bands announced the tour over the weekend. They’ll be up in Tinley Park at the First Midwest Bank Amphitheater August 24th. Death Grips also joins the tour as a supporting act.

Tied the knot

It’s not a union the likes of touring together … It’s a union much stronger and permanent. Nikki Sixx tied the knot with his love Courtney Bingham over the weekend. She’s 28. He’s old enough to be her father at the age of 55. Hell, Motley Crue’s first album came out before she was even born! Good luck, you two.

KISS members excluded

It’s no surprise that there’s some shakiness when it comes to KISS and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Apparently the band wants to include some of their other performers above and beyond the original lineup as is typically the case when a band gets inducted. Paul Stanley says the Rock Hall has bent the rules in the past for groups like Grateful Dead and that the organization is being unfair. KISS want members Eric Singer and Tommy Thayer inducted along with the original lineup, but that doesn’t appear likely at this point. KISS have already indicated they will not be performing during the ceremony April 10th in New York.

Wylde’s guitar stolen

Have you seen Zakk Wylde’s guitar? It was stolen in Chicago after Wylde took part in the Experience Hendrix tour Friday. He put the iconic black-and-white bull’s eye guitar on the bus. He left briefly to watch the rest of the show and then came back and the guitar and his leather vest were gone. Surveillance video showed three guys get on the bus after the tour manager forgot to lock the door. The guitar is valued at $10,000.
