The Internet is being inundated with news of Metallica’s latest tune “Lords of Summer.” The latest news is the band has dropped a studio demo version of the tune on fans through YouTube. It started over the weekend when the band played a show in South America. They hooked fans up with the new song and fans in turn quickly uploaded their fan shot footage of the tune. Those videos had pretty crappy audio, so Metallica decided to post the studio demo of the song so that fans could listen to a quasi-studio version of the song until their hearts content. The demo was recorded at Metallica’s HQ in California, but it’s still good enough to give fans what they’ve been craving—New music! What the real news is, with the studio demo, it’s now evident the band is working in double earnest to get a new album out.
Move over Comedy Central, let the metal heads do some roasting! News has it that this year’s Rock on the Range festival will features a good ‘ol fashioned roast of Slipknot/Stone Sour front man Corey Taylor. Not familiar with what a roast is? Well, essentially it’s when a person of fame, the likes of Taylor (or an actor/comedian/etc.) gets royally ripped on by their friends. All they can do is just sit back, drink a ton and take it. For Taylor’s roasting there will be some brilliant comedians lineup up, but there will also be some bandmates taking to the stage, including Shawn “Clown” Crahan. If you want to see the roast, it will take place at the LC Pavilion in Columbus, Ohio, May 15th. It’s gonna be the kick off to this year’s Rock on the Range. Other big names include Roast Master Sebastian Bach, Scot Ian and more.
