T Lee on New SP, Set to Buckle Down, and Sweet and Sixx Make Up

T Lee on new SP

More details on the collaboration of Tommy Lee and the Smashing Pumpkins: Billy Corgan took to the web to explain how he hooked up with, who he calls T Lee. The lengthy post talks about how he was in studio working on the tracks for the forthcoming Monuments to an Elegy album and told someone “we really need to get someone like Tommy to play on this song” which was quickly followed up with a meeting where Corgan played some of the demos from the album. T Lee agreed to be part and the rest is history. There’s still no word on when the new album will be out, but there’s news that Corgan is already working on yet another release titled Day and Night. Will T Lee perform on that one? Not sure. What’s also unclear at this time is if there’s a Pumpkins tour, will T Lee perform or will youngster Mike Byrne who’s been on drums for Corgan since 2012?

Set to buckle down

Reaffirming Metallica’s resolve for a new album, guitarist Kirk Hammet says the band will “buckle down” and get a new album out soon. This is after drummer Lars Ulrich said the band is in the “fourth inning” of the process. Lars didn’t provide many other specific details, but Hammet is. In an interview with Guitar World, Hammett says they want to make a new album but they’re strapped with touring commitments but the band has a backlog of riffs and it may be September when the band is ready to make things happen.

Sweet and Sixx make up

It seems the brief fued between two rock stars that have never met is now over. Last week Stryper’s Michael Sweet and Motley Crue’s Nikki Sixx exchanged words via the media. Sweet said his book isn’t embellished like Nikki Sixx and even quipped about Sixx’s claim to have nearly died several times. Sixx fired back a jab about non addicts talking sh*t about addicts. Sweet said he meant no disrespect. Sixx accepted the apology and wished Sweet the best of luck with the new book. Now onto patching things up with Godsmack’s Sully Erna, there Sixx!
